Childhood professionals can take different paths to degrees

According to the Greenville News, the school recently received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to add a master's degree in education next spring semester. The institution already offers graduate studies in Christian ministry and business administration - associates degree early childhood education jobs.

The Education degree is designed for working professionals and are available to enroll in evening classes and weekend. The program can be completed within two years, according to the news provider. The school hopes to offer the Christian ministry, business and education degrees to students in distance education during the 2011-2012 academic year.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of jobs for kindergarten, primary school teachers, middle and high school is expected to increase by 13 percent over the next eight years. Due to increased federal funding is not expected to be significantly more career opportunities in low-income areas and urban areas. Government officials hope to reduce the achievement gap between ethnic students and reduce dropout rates of high risk and minority groups.

According to the BLS, the requirements for education professionals vary by grade level to be taught. Preschool and primary school teachers are taking courses that focus on the psychology of learning methods and teaching. It is also expected to have general knowledge in various subjects such as math, physical sciences, social sciences, music, art and literature.

According to The Laramie Boomerang, people who are studying this field in a Wyoming-based university are required to complete a degree program in three phases before graduation. Home for the second year, the first phase allows educators who aspire to observe professionals in the field.

During his third year, they receive an experience of more real life through planning and teaching a lesson in the classroom. During his senior year, students are paired with a mentor during the fall semester, and then integrate their observations and knowledge in a teaching position full time for the spring semester.
